Where we’ll stay

Tzununa is Kaqchikel for “hummingbird of the water,” or as it’s locally known — “hummingbird valley".” A small town nestled between some of the busier lake villages, the mostly indigenous community of Tzununa offers a chance to slow down and to learn from the land.

A river flows year round here, descending from waterfalls higher in the valley, and local trails weave the hillsides, allowing hiking and gorgeous views of the valley and the lake. A hidden gem, offering tranquility, natural beauty, and several interesting spaces for dance, permaculture, and herbalism, Tzununa holds a very special place in your guides’ hearts.
